Most all manufactures include a one year warranty with purchase. Some offer even better than a one year warranty! Want to know what manufacture's we think offer the best warranty?

Who uses what we consider to be the best commercial grade parts & equipment as part of their builds?

Can you get a better trailer from a "home built builder" than from a
"retail sales outlet" or "manufacturer direct sales"?

Can you really save hundreds of dollars by making your own
    trailer?

We have answers to those types of questions and a lot more!

  • Additional Information

I would like to tell you a little about me. I'm not in the business of manufacturing or selling of utility trailers. I'm a consumer just like you! who went looking for a versatile, quality trailer at a good price with an outstanding reputation and warranty. I would like to say Boy, did I have my work cut out for me. I searched all over the internet, sales adds, news papers, craigslist, nickel adds, even went to sales lots that direct sale from manufactures, Also went to home built manufactures making utility trailers out of their garages. What I did find was a lot of useful information as to what I feel is important when looking to buy or build a utility trailer.

I feel there is a need for the consumers to be able to get a fair an non biased opinions from someone not it the business of making or selling utility trailers, I'm a consumer just like you. I'm working on list of builder's and munufacture's who deserve the highest praise and recognition. Which maunfactures have the best warranty and prices. Who's sell's the best do it yourself plans. I have spent a lot of time researching this information, compiling a list of builders and manufactures for a Top 20 List. I also would like to have an open blog where others can share their views and stories and post pics of their Home Built Trailers for all to see. I would like to see manufactures also help by showing us their latest improvments and
telling us what makes them better than the rest.

  • My Weekly Review 2/28/2012

Today I spoke with Casey Longenecker with Lone Peak Trailers in Lehi Utah.

I inquired about Big Tex Dump Trailers Price, Quality and Warranty. I asked Casey how long has been selling trailers, He said about 3 months. I asked what Big Tex Trailers he had for sale on his lot and he was quick and eager to answer, which I found awesome.

Finding a good Salesman can be even harder these days than finding a good trailer. I had lots of questions for Casey and he answered every question with the same great attitude. Some questions he had to look up or get back to me on and he did so in a quick and timely manor. I would like to say Thank You! to Casey and
Lone Peak Trailers for the quality of service they provided me.

And now for Big Tex Trailers info I learned from them, What I discovered was there are several different size dumps available for Big Tex, Smaller size does not mean cheaper in price, The 50DS was priced at $4799.00 and is the smallest of the dumps. The next size up is the 70LP which is $4999.00 thru them. Both the 50DS and the 70LP are hydraulic scissor lift units. The 70RS which has a single cylinder lift unit, cost a lot less! $3999.00 thru them. The only real difference between the Scissor and the Cylinder according to Casey was the time it took to dump the load. About 10 seconds is what he told me, I sure can wait another 10 seconds if that means saving $700.00 - $900.00 dollars. One thing I will mention is the fact the information listed in the sales brochure list the size of metal used in the sheet metal on the rails and floor as 12 gauge but does not list gauge when talking about sub frame, just the fact they used 5 inch channel.

Well this concludes my review for this week, check back next week to see who I call and what answers I find. I'm going to provide a link to reach Lone Peak Trailers on the quick link tabs. If you have questions about the Big Tex trailers I would recommend calling Casey Longenecker. He is a great person to deal with.
